Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies the Vintech Engineering Solutions website uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. We believe in being honest: this website is minimal and we use very few cookies.
How We Use Cookies
Plain language summary: The Vintech Engineering Solutions website is a simple marketing and contact website. We use only the minimum cookies required to make it work. We do not track you for advertising, build profiles, or sell data.
Our website uses cookies for the following purposes:
- To ensure the website loads and functions correctly (technical operation)
- To remember your preference choices where applicable (e.g. dark/light theme)
- To understand in aggregate how visitors use the website so we can improve it
We do not use cookies for:
- Targeted or behavioural advertising
- Building user profiles or tracking individuals across websites
- Social media tracking (no embedded social media pixels)
- Selling or sharing cookie data with third parties for commercial purposes
Essential Cookies
Essential cookies are required for the website to function. Without them, certain features would not work. These cookies do not require your consent under applicable privacy law as they are strictly necessary for the service you requested.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| __next_locale | Stores your language preference for the Next.js application. | Session | First-party |
| next-auth.csrf-token | Security token to prevent cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks. | Session | First-party |
| theme | Stores your light/dark theme preference. | 1 year | First-party |
Essential cookies cannot be disabled without affecting how the website works. They contain no personally identifiable information and are not used for any purpose beyond site operation.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting information anonymously. This helps us improve the site experience and identify pages that are not performing well.
Vercel Analytics
Our website is hosted on Vercel and uses Vercel Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool. Vercel Analytics is designed to work without setting persistent cookies by default — it uses aggregated, anonymised data to report on traffic and page views.
Vercel Analytics does not use third-party cookies, does not track individuals across websites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. For more information, see Vercel's Analytics Privacy Policy.
| Service | Data Collected | Personal Data? | Opt-out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vercel Analytics | Page views, country, device type (aggregate) | No | Browser DNT signal respected |
If we add any new analytics service in the future that uses identifiable data or persistent cookies, we will update this policy and implement a consent mechanism before enabling it.
Third-Party Services
Our website includes one embedded third-party service that may set cookies when you interact with it:
Google Maps (Contact Page)
Our contact page embeds a Google Maps iframe to display our workshop location at the Equity Building, Ngara. When you view the map, Google may set cookies as described in Google's Privacy Policy. These cookies are set by Google, not by Vintech. You can prevent the map from loading by navigating away from the contact page or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.
We do not embed social media plugins, advertising pixels, retargeting scripts, or any other third-party tracking services.
Managing Your Cookies
You can control and manage cookies in several ways. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored and delete them individually or all at once
- Block cookies from specific websites
- Block all third-party cookies while allowing first-party cookies
- Set your browser to notify you before a cookie is stored
- Browse in private or incognito mode (cookies are deleted when you close the window)
Browser-specific cookie management guides:
Blocking essential cookies will prevent parts of our website from working correctly — for example, your theme preference may not be saved. Blocking analytics cookies has no effect on how the site functions.
Do Not Track
Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting that signals to websites that you do not want to be tracked. Vercel Analytics respects this signal.
There is currently no agreed standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. We will continue to monitor developments and update our practices accordingly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, law, or our website. When we make changes, we update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
For significant changes that affect how we use cookies that require consent, we will notify you through a notice on our website.
